KYIV - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that the United States will assist Ukraine "in all of its initiatives," Acting Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Khandohiy said in Brussels on Thursday. He said Clinton announced this after a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, as part of the alliance's foreign ministerial session.
"The new administration will continue the policy of supporting Ukraine in all of its initiatives," Khandohiy quoted Clinton as saying. He said that Clinton had also spoken at the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. "She made a positive speech, with respective proposals and recommendations. Then, at a short bilateral meeting, we confirmed our plans to deepen our bilateral relations," he said.
Khandohiy also thanked Clinton for providing "long-term assistance to our relations." He said that "political contacts at various levels" had been discussed as well. "The U.S. side expressed its support for the dynamics of these political contacts," he said.
