Awarding the Winners of Asters' Scholarship Contest

On 9 December 2008 the offices of Asters Law Firm were the venue of a scholarship-awarding ceremony for the Second Contest where the entrants were competing for Asters-sponsored personal scholarships.

According to the rules of the contest procedure, the winners were announced only at the ceremony, thus the suspense continued up to the moment of awarding the finalists with diplomas, souvenirs and prizes provided by Asters and its partners in the contest – "LIGA:ZAKON" company and "Legal Gazette" publication. Kostyantyn Solyar, the Scholarship Chairman, commented on the matter as follows: "Participation in such an effortful contest, and particularly in its second round, is a victory in itself, since the entrants gathered enough courage and spirit to be among that dozen from among thousands of their peers – students of higher learning institutions from Kyiv and Kyiv region".

The Scholarship Committee had the pleasure to announce the following scholarship winners:

І award

Oleksandr Joffe, Institute of International Relations of the Kyiv Shevchenko University

IІ award

Inesa Letych, Kyiv Mohyla Academy

ІII award

Orest Matviychuk, National Tax Service University

Congratulating the finalists, Igor Svechkar, a partner with Asters and one of the initiators of the contest, said: "We are proud to maintain the tradition of the contest and also of the fact that those who successfully ran for victory in the First Contest now sit on the Scholarship Committee. I believe that internship at our law firm and the opportunity to be inspired with the mentorship, teamwork, and professionalism will become for this year winners a priceless reward in terms of experience and a genuine benchmark for their future career."

Asters Law Firm is pleased to congratulate the winners, also expressing its gratitude to them, their professors and mentors for the fundamental training and proficiency in defending their knowledge, and wishing them successes, self-mastery, and firmness of their purpose for further fulfillment.

For those interested, the ultimate score of the finalists was determined on a cumulative basis, considering the scores received for each assignment picked up by them. The scores of each second-round entrant for each particular assignment are available at Asters web-site: www.asterslaw.com/competition.
