Paul Nathanson

Paul Nathanson is a partner in the firm and senior vice president and
managing director of the Washington, DC office. For the past 14 years, he
has provided public policy analysis, government and media relations, and
strategic counseling services for many of The PBN Company's public and
private sector clients. He has managed award-winning public affairs and
communications programs for U.S. consuming industries and importers on some of the most prominent trade issues in the United States including
termination of the Section 201 steel tariffs, repeal of the Byrd Amendment, revocation of import duties on corrosion resistant steel and trade cases involving steel, shrimp, and furniture. He has managed comprehensive public affairs and public policy programs on issues ranging from development, international and domestic trade, health care, labor law, product safety and the environment to trademark and anti-counterfeiting.
From 1996 to 2002, Paul served as PBN's Senior Technical Advisor for the
USAID-funded Ukraine Market Reform Education Program (UMREP).
He provided technical assistance, strategic communications counsel,
personnel management, and served as a liaison to USAID. Prior to joining
PBN, he was CIS/European Program Vice President for the Washington-based Center for Democracy, where he organized programs focused on democratic institution building in Africa, Central America, the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
Paul holds an M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington
University and a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University. He
serves on the International Advisory Council of the Moscow School of
Political Studies.
