President of Ukrainian Grain Association

Born on June 29, 1954 in Cherepovetstown of Vologodska region (Russia), in a family of a military servant. From1961 till 1971 he went to Kyiv secondary school No.59. In 1971 he entered into KyivOrder of Lenin Polytechnic Institute. 

He startedhis work activity in August 1971 in Kyiv Cybernetics Institute in capacity of atechnician, and from 1973 till 1975 he worked as a chief laboratory foreman, engineer,and chief engineer in D. S. Korotchenko Kyiv Institute of the National Economy.From 1975 till 1977 he was a mathematician-programmer, laboratory operationsmanager of a chair of computing techniques of Kyiv Order of Lenin PolytechnicInstitute. 

In 1977 hegraduated from the Institute with a degree in automated control systems withconferring qualification of systems engineer. From 1977 till 1978 he worked as adeputy head of computer center department of Statistical Agency of city of Kyiv,and from 1978 till 1979 he was a chief specialist of mathematical design methoddepartment of «Ukrndiprotsyvilsilbud», Scientific, Research and DesignInstitute of Ukraine. From 1979 till 1981 – a group leader of automated designsystems department of «Gipropgrad», State City Design Institute of Ukraine.
 

From 1981 till1989 group leader of branch modeling and system design department, deputy headof Republican Computer Information Center of the Ministry of Storage of theUSSR and project manager of «Bread resourses management» cereal products systemof Ukraine. The developed system was implemented in the Russian Federation. From1989 till 1996 head of cooperative «Information and computer servicing» at theMinistry of cereal products of Ukraine. 

In 1997 hereceived the second higher education at Kyiv Higher Banking School of theInternational Center of Market Relations and enterprising with a degree in financeand credit with conferring qualification of - economist, manager of bankingindustry. From 1996 till 1998 – director of «Trading House «Zerno-К» limitedliability company. 

In 1998 hewas appointed to the position of general director of the Ukrainian GrainAssociation (UGA). Since July 2006 according to a decision of the generalmeeting he has been elected as a president of the UGA. 

He completedan internship in Great Britain in 1998, Israel and Canada in 2001, the USA in1998, 2008, 2009 regarding functioning of elevator industry and corn trade, exchangetrade, business planning in agriculture, alternative energy sources developmentand development of professional social organizations of agroindustrial complex.

Ph.D.student of chair of complicated systems of T.G. Shevchenko University. Authorof a range of scholarly works regarding optimization of railway transportationof grain cargoes. 

2003 – awardedwith Certificate of Honor and Medal of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
2003 – awarded with Golden Mark of the Union of Industrialists andEntrepreneurs of Ukraine.
2004 – awarded a rank «Honored Agricultural Worker of Ukraine».
2006 – awarded with labor order «Badge of Honor» of the Ministry of AgrarianPolicy.
2009 – awarded with III Class Order of Merit.
2010 – awarded with Acknowledgement of the Prime-Minister of Ukraine.

DoctorHonoris Causa of Economics and Academician of the Ukrainian TechnologicalAcademy. 

Since 2002 hehas been working as an agroindustrial complex advisor of the Prime-Ministers inseven governments and an advisor of the Secretary of the National Security andDefense Council on a voluntary basis.  

VolodymyrGeorgiiovych Klymenko is a member of Business Council at the Cabinet ofMinisters of Ukraine. EBRD and FAO expert. He took part in work of a range of governmentdelegations of Ukraine. 

Protectionand lobbying of legal interests of the UGA members and development of the stategrain sector are the main functions of the president of UGA. 

The main aspectsof work of the president of UGA Volodymyr Georgiiovych Klymenko are collaborationwith grain associations and unions of the USA, Canada, the European Union, Russia,Kazakhstan, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan and many others, the Grain and FeedTrade Association (GAFTA) and the International Grains Council, EBRD, FAO, theWorld Bank; cooperation with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy regarding thegrain market, agrarian governmental committee regarding expertize of draft lawsof Ukraine and proposal development; participation in work of the KMUstructures, proposal development and expertize of draft regulations and decreesof the KMU regarding functioning of the grain market; participation in workinggroups of the NSDC, analysis of development of the world grain market, Ukrainiangrain export lobbying, design of a development program of the state grainindustry till 2015.
