WASHINGTON, D.C. - "The business environment reform package being implemented by Ukraine's new government is working and more reforms will be implemented in the future," Olexander Motsyk, Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA tsaid at a luncheon meeting at the Embassy of Ukraine on Monday, sponsored by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). 

"International investors can be sure the new government is committed to implementing the reforms necessary to significantly improve the conditions for doing business in Ukraine," according to the Ambassador.

Representatives of USUBC member companies and USUBC attended a luncheon in Washington on Monday with Ambassador Motsyk.  The Ambassador discussed the new tax code, improvements in the VAT system, the ten national projects and other reforms and economic development programs.

Members of USUBC brought up with the Ambassador such issues as the major restrictions on grain exports, the grain export quota system, VAT tax refunds moving forward, intellectual property rights, customs restrictions for rapid transit packages, opening the energy section to international companies, the legal environment faced by energy companies; the USA FFA Catagory II airline safety restriction; Ukraine and the international airline Cape Town Treaty; the need for financing for agricultural machinery exports from the USA to Ukraine and other issues.

Andriy Pravednyk, the new Minister Counselor, Economic Affairs and Denys Mykhailuk, First Secretary, Economic Section at the Embassy of Ukraine to the USA also attended the luncheon.
