DLA Piper, a global law firm, announced the winners of its All-Ukraine Scholarship Competition for Law Students of 2013-2014, which started in autumn 2013. The Competition has been running 7th year in a row for students of law departments of the Ukrainian universities.

The winners of this year are:

1ST PLACE: Anna Gluschenko, student of the Kyiv National University named after Taras

Shevchenko.

2ND PLACE: Vladislav Dubrovsky, a student of National Law University named after Yaroslav the Wise.

3RD PLACE: Anna Ruzhenska, a student of the Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko.

All the winners won the opportunity to work as interns in DLA Piper Kyiv office for one month, after choosing a practice group where they would be interested to work. Before the start of the internship the winners will meet with the Managing Partner of the Kyiv office of DLA Piper, Margarita Karpenko and the representatives of the judging panel of the competition for a gala lunch, and will have the opportunity to discuss their internships and the hot topics of the legal market.

"This year we got less papers than usually as the submission deadline coincided with the events of mid-February 2014 and, most probably, historical processes that took place in the country also influenced the number of works we received. Nevertheless, the contest was held, finalists are chosen, internship, will hopefully give them new useful knowledge and help their further career development.

Currently we are developing several more projects for the students, which we believe will give even more opportunities to many young professionals" - says Margarita Karpenko.
