DLA Piper has advised the US based aircraft lessor, Pegasus Aviation VI, on the leasing of the Aircraft Boeing 767-300 to the Ukrainian airline, Azur Air Ukraine.

The firm provided complex analysis and implementation of aircraft registration provisions. The work undertaken required knowledge of the extensive local laws and the detailed regulatory regime in line with international conventions. The team advised on currency control issues and their appropriate structuring, concerning the variety and complexity of the leasing payments.

On completion of the deal, the aircraft leased by Azur Air Ukraine will become the fifth long-ranged aircraft in Ukraine. This will enable the operator to increase its number of international flights and expand its geographical reach.

The DLA Piper team in Ukraine was led by Oleksandr Kurdydyk, Partner and Head of Finance, Projects and Restructuring, supported by Dmytro Pshenychniuk, Senior Associate, and Iurii Krasnoliudskyi, Associate.
