On May 20,2015, the seminar “New York Convention on Recognition and Enforcement ofForeign Arbitral Awards 1958 – International Experience for Ukraine” was heldin Kharkiv, Ukraine. The event was co-organized by Law Offices Egorov PuginskyAfanasiev & Partners Ukraine, Engarde, and White&Case law firms, withthe support of the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine, Ukrainian Bar Association andUnited Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Thewell-known and experienced arbitration practitioners delivered presentations onvalidity of arbitration agreement, defective arbitrations agreements, groundsfor refusal in recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, and commented onrelevant aspects of the Ukrainian law relating to arbitrability, public policyand parallel proceedings in arbitration. Throughout the seminar there were manyopportunities to exchange views and experiences.
