Kyiv - Oleg Batyuk, Managing Partner of Dentons in Ukraine, has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Council of PJSC State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine (Ukreximbank) by the Decree of President Petro Poroshenko No. 374 / 2016, effective 30 August 2016.

As the bank’s highest governance body, the Supervisory Council’s role is to protect the interests of the bank as well as those of the state, as its shareholder.  It executes control over the activities of the bank and its Board, and determines the bank’s strategy. It also performs other functions compliant with the Law of Ukraine "On Banks and Banking Activity".

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Batyuk said: “It is a great honour and a great responsibility to be appointed by our President to this position. I am firmly committed to fulfilling my duties as Council member and helping the Bank achieve its main objectives: to create favorable conditions for Ukraine's economic development, to support national manufacturers, to provide financial assistance for the development of national infrastructure and to facilitate the growth of Ukraine's export sectors.”

Founded in January 1992, Ukreximbank is one of Ukraine’s largest banks. The bank is 100% state-owned and has its headquarters in Kyiv. It acts as the sole financial agent of the Government of Ukraine with respect to loans from foreign financial institutions, which are originated, borrowed or guaranteed by Ukraine.
