Kyiv - Svitlana Musienko, Partner and Head of Tax practice of the Kyiv office of DLA Piper is elected the board member of the International Fiscal Association in Ukraine (IFA) for the third time in a row according to the voting results among members of the Association. New board members will work at their positions for the next 2 years (2014-2015).

Working on a voluntary basis in the Association, Svetlana, together with other board members, will contribute to a constructive dialog between the international business and the Ukrainian tax and judicial authorities, as well as work on the further implementation of the international standards in Ukraine in the tax field (including OECD Commentary, Transfer Pricing Guidelines, concepts developed by ECJ and tax courts in other jurisdictions). These objectives are expected to be achieved by means of conducting seminars and meetings with the participation of the officials of the Ministry of Revenues and Duties; drafting new legislative acts, taking part and speaking at the events of the International Fiscal Association at the international level.

According to Svitlana, the following issues remain the most urgent ones to be resolved: transfer pricing rules, beneficial ownership concept introduced by the Tax Code of Ukraine, permanent establishment tax status and also combating discriminatory (towards non-residents) provisions in the Tax Code of Ukraine.

Besides Svitlana, the following persons were elected as board members of IFA for 2014-2015 and namely: Svetlana Bilyk (PricewaterhouseCoopers), Irina Marushko (Lavrynovich & Partners) and Ruslan Vakhitov (Baker Tilly). Alexander Buryak (PricewaterhouseCoopers) became the treasurer of the Association, and Elena Voznyuk (OMP Law Offices) became its president.
