The recently published Chambers Global 2014, an internationally-recognized annual directory, again recommends Vasil Kisil & Partners among the leading law firms and lawyers in Dispute Resolution, Banking and Corporate/M&A practices.

The publication ranks VKP as a leading Ukrainian law firm in Dispute Resolution (Band 1). The directory recommends Oleksiy Filatov, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution practice group, as an “intelligent, articulate and responsive lawyer”, who is noted for his strength in civil court disputes.

According to the researchers, Oleg Makarov, VKP’s Managing Partner, has a fantastic reputation for his management skills, and, though perhaps not practicing as actively as he once was, is still a formidable litigator.

The respondents also mention honours of Vadym Belyanevych, Senior Counsellor with VKP, who has more than 20 years of experience and is noted for his strength in commercial litigation.

Chambers Global 2014 also recommends Oleg Alyoshin, Partner, as a skilful litigator particularly identified for his expertise in the real estate sector.

Corporate/M&A practice of Vasil Kisil & Partners is also highly praised by the directory (Band 2). Vasil Kisil, Senior Partner, is recognized as Senior Statesman and though no longer practicing as actively as he once was, he remains a key individual for both the firm and the wider legal community.

The researchers also mention Denis Lysenko, Partner and Head of Corporate/M&A practice group, who is noted for his involvement in oil and gas mandates, and is also rated highly for his finance practice.

The clients say, that Anna Babych, Partner, “comes across as a very smart and tough lawyer” and alsopraise high her strong showing in corporate work.

Due to big financial deals successfully closed in 2013, VKP’s banking and finance practice has managed to improve its current rankings. Chambers Global 2014 highly recommends this practice of the firm (Band 2) in particular for achievements of Denis Lysenko, a “well-organized, diligent and friendly” lawyer, who has recently handled numerous M&A transactions in the banking sector, and also advises on competition and tax matters.

The researchers also recommend Yulia Kyrpa, Partner, Head of Banking & Finance practice group, who is the most visible banking and finance practitioner at the firm, and is singled out for her exceptional technical knowledge. According to sources, she is “at the forefront of what is happening in the industry,” and she offers tremendous “force of will and energy.”
