To cut fares UIA offers “hand luggage only” ticket rates on a number of non-stop international flights

As an experiment, Ukraine International Airlines offer passengers additional ticket fares for non-stop international flights connecting Kiev with Vilnius, as well as Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa with Tel Aviv. Tickets are available on UIA official website, at the carrier`s Contact Center, UIA ticket offices, and authorized travel agencies starting February 1, 2016.
UIA introduced new minimum economy class fares for carrying hand luggage only. Therefore, passengers of non-stop international services connecting Kiev with Vilnius, as well as Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Odessa with Tel Aviv can take advantage of three baggage options: hand luggage only (economy class), standard baggage allowance – 1 piece of up to 23 kg (economy class) – or increased baggage allowance – 2 pieces of up to 23 kg each (business class).
The new experimental “hand luggage only” ticket fares are available for travel starting from February 15, 2016. In case a passenger, who purchased the “hand luggage only” option, decides to carry baggage, he/she will have to pay 15 USD for one-way carriage in case the option is pre-paid no later than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure.
“According to passenger traffic analysis conducted by UIA experts, nearly 25% of economy class passengers prefer carrying hand luggage only. To meet the demand of this category of our clients we have developed the special ticket fares, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – To survey the demand for such product, we currently offer the new fares on several flights. In case the service turns out to be in-demand, we will introduce it across our network like such reputable European carriers as Lufthansa, British Airways and KLM have already done”.
“Hand luggage only” experimental ticket fares have been introduced in addition to existing tariff structure. Nothing changes for passengers of all UIA flights who choose to carry their standard baggage allowance.
