Transport Canada Aviation Security reportedUkraine International to have successfully passed the assessment of thesecurity measures and received aCanadian Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC) permittingscheduled passenger services from Ukraine to Canada. 

As part of itslong-haul program, Ukraine International plans to launch non-stop transatlanticservice en route Kiev – Toronto – Kiev within the Summer 2015 Schedule. Toreceive a flight permit a carrier is obliged to apply for a Canadian FAOC andto undergo the security measures` assessment. During the On-Site Security Visit– December 8 – 12, 2014, – the representatives of Transport Canada Safety andSecurity have assessed the UIA security measures. The assessment was carriedout to verify Ukraine International complied with ICAO standards andrecommended practices, as well as Canadian regulatory requirements. 

Given the currentsituation in Ukraine, the assessment process covered the entire aviationsecurity system, as well as individual procedure checks. The assessment foundUkraine International has an approved security program that is consistent withICAO standards and recommended practices and meets Canadian aviation securityrequirements. Moreover, the assessors highly appreciated professionalism andskill of UIA staff involved in maintaining safety and security of passengers,cargo, and aircraft. 

Along withassessments previously conducted by TSA USA, Israel Ministry of Transport andRoad Safety, and the EU (ACC3 validation), the results of Transport CanadaAviation Security assessment prove UIA aviation security measures comply withthe highest international standards and the airline is ready to operate flightsto Canada.
