FROM THE ATLANTIC TO THE PACIFIC," outstanding photographs by Ivan Dudkin, sponsored by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), www.USUBC.org., in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, http://www.buyusa.gov/ukraine/en/, with support from the National Union of Journalists, National Union of Photojournalists of Ukraine, NEW TOURS (New York), House of Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the "International Tourism" magazine.
The opening reception for the Ivan Dudkin photo exhibition "America..From the Atlantic to the Pacific," will take place at the House of Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, Volodymyrska St., 45-a (Golden Gate Metro), Monday, March 21, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm., Kyiv, Ukraine. The photo exhibition is being held while the Ukraine Travel and Tourism 17th International Exhibition is being held March 21-23 at the International Exhibition Centre (IHC) in Kyiv, http://www.uitt-kiev.com/en/. This is the largest travel industry event held each year in Kyiv.
"We expect an substantial increase in the number of tourists and business travelers from Ukraine to the USA this year," said Cheryl Dukelow, Commercial Attache at the U.S. Embassy and Morgan Williams, SigmaBleyzer, President, U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), "and are proud to sponsor this exhibition of outstanding USA photographs by a Ukrainian photographer. IVAN DUDKIN, GEOPHYSICIST, JOURNALIST, PHOTOGRAPHER Ivan Dudkin is a geophysicist, journalist, photographer and one of the most famous Ukrainian globetrotters. His feats include extreme skiing expeditions in the Far North and climbing to the top of peeks in the Caucasus, Sayan, Tian Shan, Himalayas and Alaska. He’s walked, hitchhiked, sailed, cycled, motorcycled and driven across tens of thousands of kilometers of the most interesting corners of 82 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. He has circumnavigated the globe twice.
Ivan Dudkin is known in Ukraine and abroad for his photography. His photographs have been displayed in 64 personal photo exhibits in 24 cities in Ukraine and abroad. His works as a journalist and photographer have been published in numerous publications and he regularly works with the magazines “International Tourism” and “Welcome to Ukraine”.
He is the author of a unique and successful international photo project: “We Are One family. Our Home Is Planet Earth” held in collaboration with embassies and representative offices of numerous countries. This project included personal photo exhibits about Bulgaria, Vietnam, India, Cuba, Lebanon, the US, Tunisia and Mexico, a series of articles in the press about these and other countries, as well as numerous radio and television reports.
PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA The United States of America is one of the most unique countries in the world and a must-see for any traveler. It has everything: from the arctic landscapes of Alaska and snow-capped mountains of Colorado, to exotic subtropical Florida and romantic Hawaii. Beautiful lakes, rivers, and desserts filled with bizarre cactuses abound. Let’s not forget world famous museums and theaters, the happiest place on the planet – Disney Land in Orlando, and the majestic Niagara Falls and Grand Canyon. America has 58 fascinating national parks that annually attract more than 300 million visitors from around the world.
Ivan has visited the USA on 7 occasions and has traveled to 28 of the 50 states, from Alaska in the north, Florida in the south, Maine in the east and Hawaii in the west. His last trip to America in September and October 2010 was at the invitation of the tourist company NEW YOURS (New York). As part of a group of international tourists he visited the most interesting spots in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah, covering more than 5,000 km by bus.
