YOU AREINVITED to attend a USUBCsponsored "Workshop on U.S. Government Sanctions - Crimea and Russia"on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the conferenceroom at the offices of SigmaBleyzer, 4a, Baseyna Street; "Mandarin Plaza/Arena," 8thfloor, Kyiv, Ukraine (see directions below).

The presenter for the "Workshop on U.S. GovernmentSanctions - Crimea and Russia" will be Adam Smith, Senior Advisor, UnitedStates Department of the Treasury.  Mr. Smith will present anoverview of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of theTreasury and a review of the U.S. Government sanctions regarding Crimeaand Russia followed by a Q&A session. 

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S.Department of the Treasury administers and enforces economic and tradesanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals againsttargeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcoticstraffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation ofweapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security,foreign policy or economy of the United States. 

OFAC acts under Presidential national emergency powers, aswell as authority granted by specific legislation, to impose controls ontransactions and freeze assets under US jurisdiction. Many of the sanctions arebased on United Nations and other international mandates, are multilateral inscope, and involve close cooperation with allied governments.

DIRECTIONS TO KYIV OFFICES OFSIGMABLEYZER:  The SigmaBleyzer officesare in the Arena City/Mandarin Plaza complex across the street from theBessarabsky Market. Go to the entrance of the Pinchuk Art Centre. Next to theentrance of the Pinchuk Art Center (on the right) there is a large canopy overthe sidewalk that has red signs on it for the Arena Restaurant.  Go intothe open air entrance and go up the ramp or a few steps until you get to theArena Restaurant on the LEFT.  Go left at the Arena Restaurant around thecircle (Mandarin Plaza). 
 
Go on by the large outdoor open-air restaurant on the right.  Go onpast the Baldessarini and Armani clothing stores on the left.  Do notgo into the shopping center. After going past the two stores on theleft you will come to two double doors on the left.  Lookfor the SigmaBleyzer sign there (as well as a LG sign). Go in thatentrance, go up a few steps to the two elevators, take an elevator tothe 8th Floor.  In case you are still unclear as to the location ofSigmaBleyzer’s office, call SigmaBleyzer officeat +38 (044) 284-1290.
