Following a well-deserved break, it is time to plan ahead for the coming season. In fact there are now less than 6 weeks remaining until the 3rd annual Ukrainian Energy Forum, organised by Adam Smith Conferences and supported by the Ministries of Energy & Coal Industry and Ecology & Natural Resources of Ukraine, and which takes place on 27th February – 1st March at the Hotel Intercontinental in Kyiv.

Stay ahead of the recent developments in the Ukrainian energy sector

Activity in the Ukrainian energy sector and surrounding the forum itself has continued over the holiday season. Here are some of the latest developments:

  • Dr Johann Harter, COO of Activ Solar, has joined the speaker faculty. Activ Solar commissioned 3 solar power plants with total capacity of 185MW in Ukraine in 2011 with more major projects to follow. Hear from Dr Harter how Ukraine is becoming a European leader in solar power;
  • RAG has a new Ukrainian project, exploring for hydrocarbons in Western Ukraine. Hear in detail about the project from Markus Mitteregger, CEO of RAG;
  • DTEK Power Trade has signed contracts with EDF and CEZ for electricity supply to the European Union. Andrey Favorov of DTEK Power Trade and Ludek Horn of CEZ are amongst the speakers on the Electricity Day on 1st March.

They join a 55-strong speaker panel, featuring the likes of Ministers Boyko and ZlochevskiyShell, Ukrnafta, TNK-BP, Naftogaz, Gazprom, ExxonMobil and a host of leading energy companies, international experts and government officials.
