Tuesday, September 13, 2011 9.15 am - 4.00 pm Altitude Rooftop Ballroom Hotel W 515 15th Street, NW Washington, DC 20004 The U.S. - Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum is a long-standing tradition of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) which was originated at the request of the leading U.S. companies with significant investments in the Uzbek market. The aim of the 2011 U.S.-Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum is to promote and endorse better bilateral trade relations between Uzbekistan and the U.S. This year's event features the Uzbek Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, Mr. Ravshan Gulyamov. The AUCC members' choice of this Central Asian state as an investment hub was driven by the business rationale, geopolitical reasoning and historical significance. Today, many of our members are celebrating almost a twenty-year old history of investing and doing business with Uzbekistan. The longevity of such developed business relations and ties is atypical to most countries of the Former Soviet Union. In the case of Uzbekistan, however, it validates the companies' belief that this country is a market with opportunities to be explored and the place where businesses can make profit, expand their networks, and most importantly, make a meaningful impact on the the quality of life of those who reside and work in Uzbekistan. The AUCC Annual Business Forum is an opportunity for new businesses and investors to learn about the Uzbek market potential. The forum's speakers include officials from the U.S. and Uzbek governments, U.S. businessmen and investors as well as experts representing leading U.S. think tanks. The AUCC members hope that the 2011 U.S. - Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum will strengthen our countries' understanding of the urgency and importance to engage more at the commercial, political and other levels.
