BDO in Ukraine promotes social responsibility of Ukrainian business
BDO, Kyiv, Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine, 25 June, 2012
Sustainability and CSR concerns are going mainstream and the business community is increasingly taking a leading role in finding solutions and create new opportunities from the dangers ahead such as climate change, population growth, poverty and a diminishing resource base.
BDO is fully supportive of the national CSR centre’s efforts to create a road map for Ukraine’s speedy transition to a low carbon, high sustainability society enabling economic, environmental and social aspects to be fully integrated into a Ukrainian vision the next 100 years. On March 10, 2011 the company became a member of the Center, "Development of corporate social responsibility." From that time BDO takes active part in CSR centre’s activities and fully supports its’ initiatives.
BDO in Ukraine is in the process of publishing its third sustainability report which will be based on the “best in class” Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard. We have submitted our first UN Global Compact “Communication on Progress” report and are fully committed to play our part in becoming a more sustainable company as well as inspiring our stakeholders including suppliers, peers and our international offices to minimise their sustainability footprint going forward.
