SCM Group is Ukraine's largest private business and the largest taxpayer. In 2015 alone, the company paid over UAH 33 billion in taxes to Ukraine's budget and this is despite an increasingly complex external environment – economic recession, hostilities and suspension of operations.
Today's attack at SCM's office is not just a gross violation of public order but it is, first of all, a gross violation of the supremacy of law and respect for private property.
Such attacks damage Ukraine's reputation as a civilized country with European values. That's why their initiators and participants are not patriots.
We want to thank the law enforcement agencies which have done everything today to protect Ukraine's law and image primarily in the eyes of the international community.
We call on law enforcers to take all necessary actions to stop violence in Kiev.
