WESTINGHOUSE ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL APPOINTMENT FOR EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA OPERATIONS

PITTSBURGH - Westinghouse Electric Company today announced several organizational appointments in support of its newly formed Europe, Middle East and Africa operations, based in Brussels.

"The opportunities for success in this area of the world are literally limitless," said Anders Jackson, Westinghouse president of Europe, Middle East and Africa.  "The new regional structure is organized to help us seize these opportunities as well as prepare us to meet the needs of a geographic area spanning several time zones, cultures and different levels of market maturity, all while exceeding our customers' expectations."

Key appointments in support of the Europe, Middle East and Africa operations include:  

       Jason Babik, controller
       Rita Bowser, vice president, Major Projects
       Duncan Craig, vice president, Operations Support
       Aziz Dag, vice president, Marketing and Sales Major Projects
       Mike Kirst, vice president, Strategy and External Affairs  
       Sylvestre Vire, vice president, Strategic Customer Projects

Regional managing directors have been assigned to focus on identifying customer-specific needs and solutions, and provide localized delivery and support of Westinghouse products and services.   The managing directors for each strategic geographical region are:

       Yves Brachet (France, Benelux, Republic of South Africa).   Mr. Brachet will also serve as deputy president of Europe, Middle East and Africa.  
       Norbert Haspel (Central Europe – Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary)
       Jose Emeterio Gutierrez (Southern Europe – Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Romania Bulgaria)
       Johan Hallen (Nordic – Sweden, Finland, Baltic, Poland, Ukraine)
       Mike Tynan (UK, Egypt, Middle East)

The Europe, Middle East and Africa operations is the first of three regional Westinghouse organizations to be formed, with Asia and the Americas set to launch in October of this year.  Each will be responsible for customer relationships, business development, and project and product delivery in their
respective regions.
