KYIV,Ukraine— Westinghouse Electric Company and the National Nuclear EnergyGenerating Company (NNEGC Energoatom) today agreed to significantly increasefuel deliveries to Ukrainian nuclear power plants through 2020.
Thisincreased cooperation between Westinghouse [a long-time member of theU.S.-Ukraine Business Council, www.USUBC.org]and Energoatom will bring diversification and security of nuclear fuel suppliesfor Ukraine’s reactor fleet. U.S.-based Westinghouse has been working in theUkrainian market since 2003, and brings diversification of suppliers, globalbest practices and technology to the Ukraine market.
Westinghousefuel is currently operating safely and efficiently at the South Ukraine NuclearPower Plant without any defects in performance. Under terms of the contract,Westinghouse will employ its global diverse supply chain to manufacture thefuel and components making use of its facilities in the U.S. and Europe.
