On Friday, July 27, USUBC hosted for its members a "TAXES, CUSTOMS, STATE FISCAL SERVICE REFORMS ROUNDTABLE" With Myroslav Prodan, Acting Head, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

Mr. Prodan visited Washington with key members of State Fiscal Service team. In his presentation, Myroslav Prodan informed about the progress of SFS work, such as implementation of “Single Window” System at Ukrainian customs, electronic excise tax and VAT refund and the achieved level of transparency in paying tax which resulted in significant increase of state budget income.

Mr. Prodan discussed critically important issues regarding tax, customs, axсise regulation, smuggling, business investigations, and so-called "gray zones" near occupied territories. 

He also answered multiple questions from moderators and attendees, in particular about the axcise price increase for the tobacco industry, some remaining VAT refund problems experienced by ag. companies, raising complains registered by Business ombudsman office etc.
