WASHINGTON, D.C., JANUARY 18, 2023 - The over 200 members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), www.USUBC.org, are proud to welcome AeroVironment, Inc. as a new member.
AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV) provides technology solutions at the intersection of robotics, sensors, software analytics and connectivity that deliver more actionable intelligence. Headquartered in Virginia, AeroVironment is a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems and serves defense, government and commercial customers.
Dr. Paul B. MacCready Jr., a designer of human-powered aircraft, founded the company in 1971. With a purpose to secure lives and advance innovation, AeroVironment is a leader in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), tactical missile systems (TMS), and high-altitude pseudo-satellites (HAPS). The company is the US military's top supplier of small drones — notably the Raven, Switchblade, Wasp, and Puma models.
“AeroVironment is privileged to help the Ukraine forces fight for their country’s freedom and save countless lives, “ said Charles Dean, Vice President of Global Business Development, Sales and Marketing. “We stand with the people of Ukraine and all of NATO.”
On 16th March 2022, President Joe Biden announced the US would send Ukraine more anti-aircraft, anti-armor weapons and drones. AeroVironment’s Switchblade 300, or commonly called kamikaze “suicide” drone, was part of the initial US military aid package. Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, hundreds of the company’s Switchblade 300, its larger variant, the Switchblade 600, and Puma UAS have entered the fight.
“The over 200 members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), welcome AeroVironment as its newest member. AeroVironment manufactures and supplies to Ukraine high-end military capabilities that are vital for Ukraine’s victory. We are looking forward to working with AeroVironment” said USUBC President & CEO, Morgan Williams.
