On 16 November 2018, the Law of Ukraine On Ensuring Transparency in Extractive Industries No 2545-VIII dated 18 September 2018 came into effect.
 
The Law introduces compulsory disclosure in the extractive industry in connection with Ukraine's accession to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). The new requirements will be applicable to, among other companies, upstream industry players who are conducting business in Ukraine on the basis of regular licenses (special permits) and production sharing agreements.
