On Friday, January 18, students of   Ukrainian Leadership Academy (ULA) presented to USUBC members an outstanding performance, Christmas Theater Vertep. The action took place in the Conference Room of the SigmaBleyzer offices, in Kyiv followed by a reception.

Christmas Theater Vertep performance was sponsored by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), in cooperation with AgroGeneration (http://www.AgroGeneration.com), SigmaBleyzer, DAAR Foundation and the Ukrainian Leadership Academy.

Vertep, a Ukrainian Christmas theater, is a group of people going from house to house presenting short scenes and carol singing, following old Ukrainian traditions.

As part of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy's (UAL) efforts to reinforce and spread the idea of national identity, the ULA traditionally performs Verteps in various locations around Ukraine.

The ULA students created both the plot and the costumes themselves. The marathon of caroling begins with Vertep-Fest in Kharkiv and continues with performances around the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and in Kyiv
