Ukraine Global Scholars (UGS) www.UkraineGlobalScholars.org in partnership with the US-Ukraine Business Council, held its Annual Alumni Event in Kyiv on August 3rd.

UGS students, set to enroll at top boarding schools (e.g., Phillips Academy Andover, the Taft School, the Lawrenceville School) and colleges (Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Georgetown Qatar, and others) on full scholarships in the fall of 2019 as well as new finalists-2019 attended the function with their siblings and parents before departing Ukraine in a few weeks.

The event was attended by over 135+ people including UGS students, parents, representatives from top Ukraine-based companies. The highlight of the afternoon was a keynote speech by the honorable Charge d'Affaires William Taylor (In the picture - left), who spoke about opportunities to leverage the US education back in Ukraine. Following an extensive Q&A, Ambassador stayed back for more than half an hour to speak with students in a smaller setting.

Michael Datsenko (In the picture - right), Director, Information and Member Programs, moderated the meeting. 

US-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) assisted UGS in providing the venue for this event and information support, the Astem Foundation provided sponsorship support, and top Ukraine-based companies, including Deloitte, East Europe Foundation, ZEO Alliance, FabLab, Enzym, Farmak, Mazars Ukraine, UNIT and arranged summer internships to UGS students, stimulating their return to Ukraine as full-time professionals.
