This historic event took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, on the 21st and 22nd July 2022 at Atlas 1948 / the Atlas Sinema Museum.

The Global Economic Impact Forum on Ukraine on Ukraine was held in Istanbul, Turkiye, on the 21st and 22nd July 2022. The Forum was defined by interactions between key governmental and industry decision-makers to come up with new areas for cooperation needed to resolve the challenges faced by the global community due to Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine; and spark new partnerships and ideas needed to improve the state of the world.

723 attendees joined in person at the forum in Istanbul, with numerous meetings between participants taking place throughout the venue across both days of the event. In attendance, in addition to the Ukrainian governmental partners and chambers, were Fortune 500 CEOs, Members of Parliament from various nations, and other key stakeholders involved with supporting the economic continuity of Ukraine and the world.

Attendees had the opportunity to not only listen to the plenary sessions but also to engage in multiple and high-value face-to-face meetings with both public and private sector counterparts, decision-makers, and cooperation partners from the region and around the world - accomplishing one of the primary objectives of this event.

The forum also garnered over 13,000 live viewers across multiple social media platforms.

Ukrainian governmental speakers at the forum included Hon. Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine, Hon. Halyna Yanchencko, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine and Secretary of the National Investment Council of Ukraine, Hon. Dmytro Natalukha, Chairman of the Economic Affairs Parliamentary Committee, Member of Parliament of Ukraine and the Hon. Yelyzaveta Yasko Lisa Yasko, Head of Interparliamentary Cooperation, Bilateral and Multilateral Relations Committee on Foreign Affairs & Interparliamentary Cooperation, Member of Parliament of Ukraine. 

International support and solidarity for Ukraine were also shown by top level international governmental speakers who were in attendance, including the Hon. Jovana Marović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro; the Hon. Andres Sutt, Member of Parliament of Estonia and former Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications; Zaiga Liepina, Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Economics of Latvia; and the Hon. Davor Bosnjak, Head of Cabinet, Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina; among many others.

The event was organized by the National Investment Council of Ukraine, Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), The International Council of Business Associations and Chambers in Ukraine (ICBAC) and International Trade Council (ITC), alongside 11 Ukrainian industry chambers and associations, including the U.S. - Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). Together these chambers and associations represent approximately 95% of the Ukrainian business community.

During the event, Denis Jatsyshyn, Director, Corporate Relations, USUBC, moderated two panel discussions on the U.S. – Ukraine business relations with Tom Austin, Ukraine Special Projects Director, Trimble Inc.; Lars Hickey, Managing Director of Sales and Project Finance, International Government Affairs, Wabtec Corporation; Vasily Borovsky (LLB, LLM, PMP) VP Business Development, USKO Express, Inc (USA) and Vlad Skots, Chairman and Co-founder of Ukrainian American House & CEO at USKO Express Inc and Financing the rebuilding of Ukraine with Hasan Demirhan, Vice President Banking, Black Sea Trade & Development Bank - BSTDB, Matteo Patrone, Managing Director, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Ersin Nazali, Managing Partner, NAZALI tax & Legal.

U.S. – Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) received a special award from John Dentons, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for indispensable tireless work in support of entrepreneurship, free trade, and business continuity in the face of unprecedented crisis.

USUBC members Trimble, Wabtec, Corteva Agriscience, USCO and International Turkish Ukrainian Business Association, participated in the Global Economic Impact Forum on Ukraine.
