WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) welcomes AM General, as a new member. AM General, www.amgeneral.com/, headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, designs, engineers, manufactures, supplies and supports specialized vehicles for military and commercial customers worldwide.

Through its military business, the company is widely recognized as the world leader in design, engineering, manufacturing and logistics support of Tactical Vehicles, having produced and sustained more than 300,000 vehicles in over 70 countries.

AM General, as a diviersified, privately-owned company, has more than five decades of experience meeting the changing needs of the defense and automotive industries, supported by its employees at major facilities in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, and a strong supplier base that stretches across 43 states.

AM General's success stories in vehicle design, engineering, and production are legendary—to include the world-famous Humvee® and other military Light Tactical Vehicle offerings. Their renowned competencies also extend to commercial vehicles—both as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and as a contract manufacturer for partners such as General Motors and Mercedes-Benz. AM General also supplies world-class parts, logistical support, technical services and training for its customers in the U.S. and globally.

AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove, attended the USUBC/Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, sponsored Business Leaders Roundtables with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in New York City in September of 2017 and also on September 26, 2018.  AM General has delivered over 75 of their HMMWV military vehicles and around 50 ambulances to the military forces in Ukraine through a joint program between the GOU and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Global vehicle solutions provider, AM General, featured products that highlight new partnerships and demonstrate new, enhanced capabilities for the company at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) October 8-10, 2018, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington, D.C.

USUBC President & CEO, Morgan Williams, visited the AM General display booth at the AUSA Exposition in Washington.  Williams had a meeting with Ngygen Trinh, Executive Vice President, International Defense and Nick Twardokus, Vice President, International Capture. Mr. Twardokus attended a recent USUBC meeting in Washington on U.S.-Ukraine business cooperation in the field of defense industry manufacturing with the leaders of UkrOboronProm.

According to AM General, “The AUSA Expo provided us the opportunity to demonstrate our key strengths as a specialized automotive and weapon systems manufacturer for our domestic and global customers” said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove. “This year, our customers saw first-hand the truly remarkable flexibility of our HMMWV platform in addition to a lineup of new and exciting product offerings.”

The company’s recent contract awards to support the production of new M997A3 Ambulances, modernization of existing HMMWV fleet vehicles, and to meet international customer demand via the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) channel speaks to its robust and multifaceted business operations.

Additionally, AM General continues to leverage its existing partnerships with Rock Island Arsenal and the Red River Army Depot to provide the U.S. Government with high-quality and cost-efficient solutions for the light tactical vehicle needs of today’s warfighter. These programs are great examples of how AM General continues to lead the Defense Industry with highly successful Public Private Partnerships.

AM General is also expanding its product portfolio beyond light tactical vehicles. AM General’s partnership with Arquus to build a 12-ton personnel carrier for the US Foreign Military Sales channel is an example of how the company can maximize its expertise in manufacturing, supply chain management and full product support to bring a tremendous vehicle to US Foreign Military markets.

"USUBC is most pleased to have AM General, www.AMGENERAL.com, as a new member and look forward to working closely with them on the development of an ongoing business partnership in Ukraine," said Morgan Williams, President & CEO, USUBC, www.USUBC.org.
