KPMG is a winner of Green Awards Ukraine 2012, a notable all-Ukrainian contest, in the nomination ‘Best program for sustainable development in the enterprise’. This is the second year that international jury provides its assessment of the efforts of organizations and companies in implementing safe for the environment and human health projects. 40 reputable jury members highly assessed KPMG Ukraine’s project “Go beyond, go green!”. The Award Ceremony was held on 1 March 2013 in Kyiv Planetarium.

KPMG submitted its integrated social project of sustainable development in a non-production enterprise “Go beyond, go green!”. The objectives of the project can be summarized as follows:

  • Reduction of adverse environmental effects;
  • Promoting sustainable development by KPMG experts;
  • Involvement of employees and their family members through integrated communication systems;
  • On a regular basis, arrangement of information and educational events for representatives of business, media, public organizations, and state institutions.

The project has been implemented since 2010 and is intended to promote sustainable development and changes in business process management and people behavior through introduction of ‘Green Office’ concept, green planting and parkland cleaning by company’s employees, arranging regular information and educational events, etc.

All-Ukrainian Competition Green Awards Ukraine 2012 was divided into two phases:

1) Projects are accepted from 15 August 2012 till 15 November 2012
2) Projects are evaluated till 28 February 2013.

Forty Ukrainian and foreign experts in environmental protection and sustainable development voted for the best projects that were honored with Green Awards Premium.

Green Awards Ceremony 2012 was noted for the first run of the spherical movie about Ukraine produced in Ukraine. Ukrainian rock bands also contributed to warm atmosphere of the event. The ceremony was mastered by a known showman Uncle Zhora and Missis Ukraine International 2012 Bogdana Nazarova.

Invitation cards for the event were drafted in the non-standard format of a “Green Passport”.
